People Dialogue Festival, Kenya 2026
In 2026, 2030beyond returned to Kenya for the People Dialogue Festival. This year, 29 students from FGU Hovedstaden and FGU Midt- og Østsjælland joined 64 students from Kenya Utalii College.
Together with nOmy Group, the Danish and Kenyan students spent 12 days working together through workshops and excursions. They explored the Sustainable Development Goals through food and cooking, with a special focus on SDGs 2, 12 and 13. At the People Dialoge Festival the students facilitated the Culinary Conversations Corner. Here they presented sustainable dishes they had developed together and shared their knowledge with festival guests through tasters and interactive cook-along events. The activities invited guests to try new flavours and discover how everyday choices around food can contribute to more sustainable food systems, responsible consumption and climate action.

Youth Sounding Boards at PDF
2030beyond also helped bring young people and the SDGs into conversations across the festival. We supported members of the Youth Sounding Boards from Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania in hosting activities about the SDGs, democracy and youth participation. Through a World Café, music, creative activities and informal networking, young people exchanged ideas and built new connections across East Africa. The activities gave participants new tools and inspiration to turn dialogue into action and continue creating youth-led activities in their own communities.
