People's Dialogue Festival, Kenya 2025

In 2025, 2030beyond returned to Kenya for the People's Dialogue Festival. Watch these clips to see what we got up to in 2025!

As in previous years, we made sure all students became experts of the SDGs. We facilitated an SDG workshop hosted at the Kenya Utalii College for the students from Kenya and Denmark. The students presented their learnings from projects and new ideas about SDG action, inspiring each other to new activities at their schools.

Then we explored the nutioruos land of Kenya. The students visited Mlango Farm, where they learnt about sustainable agriculture where the farm is an excellent example of sustainable farming and produce.

On a visit to Dandora, one of Africa's largest landfills, the students learnt about waste management and the importance of sustainable practices in our daily lives, including circular economy thinking. The students were also able to witness sustainablity in action, as the residents of Dandora are working on improving their livelihoods.

On the trip at Lake Naivashia, students met with local fishers to understand local challenges, including fishing licences, poverty and the difficulty to live sustainably.

The People's Dialogue Festival (PDF) is organised by Center for Multiparty Democracy, Kenya.

2030beyond facilitates the set-up of the “Culinary Conversations Corner” at the PDF with the participation of Danish and Kenyan culinary students, who – guided by our partners from nOmy – serve sustainable tasters to the festival visitors.
