Since 2018, we have been coordinating the SDG Platform at the Danish People’s Meeting, Folkemødet, which takes place every June in the island of Bornholm. In 2020, we took over as 2030beyond, and this year we hosted (number of partners, youth etc.)

Folkemødet is the largest democracy festival in Scandinavia, and each year the festival welcomes (number) visitors who participate in the thousands of events over the course of three days.

At the SDG Platform, Verdensmålenes Plads, we have the ambition to bring stakeholders together across sectors, ages, political and cultural divides, to debate, innovate and co-create new ideas and partnerships for action around the SDGs.

This year, we hosted (xx) events in our main tent, focusing on a wide range of topics; from mental health to climate action, peace and development to sexual health. We involved xx youth who participated in the chef’s tent, cooking alongside master chefs to promote sustainable food. We also involved youth from several vocational training schools in activities around sustainable construction and textiles.

The SDG platform at the Danish People’s Meeting serves as the global hub for knowledge and inspiration on how to host an SDG Festival. Through our collaboration with Danida Fellowship Center, we bring groups from Danida’s partner countries to Denmark for a four week learning program on SDG action, involving them actively in the festival. This has, so far, resulted in SDG Festivals happening in Kenya and Uganda.
